the wren. Mangroves also shelter thousands of fish, shrimp, and crabs. The most striking feature of the mangrove is the tree roots, which protrude from the soil as a biological adaptation to mitigate the low oxygen levels caused by flooding and decomposition. El manglar es un ecosistema muy importante para la vida marina y para nosotros descubra su encanto aquí.

En esta actividad usted descubrirá por medio de un bote o kayak las maravillas del bosque de manglar, sus habitantes como las garzas azuladas, garcetas verdes, monos cara blanco y la mística seibita que es el oso hormiguero más pequeño del mundo.

Costa Rica cuenta con 7 especies de manglar, las cuales sirven de refugio a cientos de aves migratorias como el zarapito trinador y los mueve colitas además los manglares refugian a miles de peces, camarones y cangrejos.

La característica mas notoria en el manglar son las raíces de los árboles las cuales sobresalen del suelo como una adaptación biológica para evitar la poca oxigenación producida por las inundaciones y la descomposición.
